• All our food is cooked fresh.

Your guests do not need to pre-order their food. You do not need to provide us with entrée counts prior to your event. We cook all our food to order as your guests request each item, this means there is less food waste and also money wise with all our dinners. Even the buffets are cooked fresh, if you group is eating more salmon and less pork, we simply cook more salmon. This means the first person and last person going through the buffet enjoy the same choice and quality. We also rarely run out of any items. 

Guests enjoy the ability to have their meat cooked to temperature, select the sauce “on the side” and customize their meal to meet allergy and dietary needs.

 

• Free and ample parking

Often guests wish to leave their vehicles’ and retrieve them the next day. Our private, large parking lot insures there will be no ticket waiting for them the next day. Nor will they have to drive 30 minutes to find a sufficient parking place.



• Rule free events.

We understand many venues must implement many rules due to ownership or location issues. We at the Red Lion have just five requests:

1. No confetti or glitter that may kill our vacuums
2. No self serve keg beer. Your wedding does not need keg-stands as the main attraction.
3. Hairspray+tulle+fire = Brides on fire. No sparklers please.
4. Music turned down at 10:30, off by 11:30. Some exceptions apply.
5. No fake rose petals, real ones are fine. Thanks

• Customize your event.

We encourage you to bring your special pet, motorcycle, props, fishing poles, putters and any thing else you feel would add to the uniqueness of your photos and your day.

Our big, lush lawn is great for lawn games. Bad- mitten, Frisbee, croquette, or just beach balls can add fun and a sense of freedom to your event.



• Service, service, service

Our waiters are professional service people. They all work shifts in our fine dining restaurant and pride themselves on giving service better then any other event venue.



• An equal amount of space indoors and out.

Each event is given an equal space in case of inclement weather. Colorado weather can change in 20 minutes; we make sure we have back up ceremony, reception and dinner space in case of rain or snow. We always have a “plan B:” in place, for your sense of security. Our events never need worry “What if it rains?”



• More event time then any other venue.

The Red Lion gives a minimum of 7.5 hours of event time per group. We allow 8.5 hours for Sunday-Friday events. Extra hours may be purchased at the reasonable rate of $100-$200 per hour, date depending.



• We can host your event often for less

Than you can host it in your own back yard. Our 40’*60’ frame tent, with floor, sides and heater rents (from a rental company) for $3000-$4000. By the time you rent tables, chairs, linens, service ware and purchase your own liquor liability insurance, the Red Lion could have held your event and cleaned up. The best part is there will not be 100 guests using your home restroom. If you are on a budget please notify the office and we will suggest ways to make your event fit into your budget.



• Beautiful location

Acres of lush grounds, creek side walks, wild flowers, stone fireplaces, historic buildings, and a rustic European atmosphere make the Red Lion unique to Boulder and Colorado. We are proud to be the longest serving restaurant in Colorado, and the oldest business in Boulder's history.
